Mr. J. Brook, the manager of the Association, has spared no effort to make this "extra" tourna ment the most successful yet. The programme includes three ten-rounders in addition to the fifteen rounds championship, and two six-rounders.
India Champion.
A. B. Ewin is featured in a ten- *rounder against Stoker Evans, of H.M.S. Enterprise, the welter- weight and middleweight cham- plon of India. Evans is also cre- dited with a victory "over Morris, but this was gained some time ago and sufficient has not been seen of him to determine whether he could repeat. Ewin and Evans will fight at the middleweight limit.

Two Feathers.
In the feathers, Stoker Gold, H.M.S. Hermes, is scheduled to go ten rounds with A. B. Hindle, of H.M.S. Delhi. It was intended, to give Hindle a championship fight but his ut this tournament, opponent left for Shanghai. Stoker Gold has come on remark- ably since his first fight in Hong- kong. He is now said to be n better man than the lively Marine Hills, and his draw with a light- weight at the last tournament should give him confidence against Hindle, though the latter has a splendid record.
The tivo six-rounders are lightweight contest between Pte. Hume, K.O.S.B., and A. B. New- stoad, Hermes, and a middleweight bout between L/Cpl. Finlayson. K.0.9.B., and Marino Watts, of the Hermes.
The programme is appended: Welterweight Champlonship of the Colony. 15 Rounds. Stoker Morris (holder) v. A. B.

In the Junior Division "A" Kowloon Reserves and the Recreio Reserves are expected to add puints to their present records.

Final approval by the full Cabinet has yet to be obtained, but since I am in a position to state that the Prime Minister and those of his colleagues who are primarily concerned are enthugins- tically, in favour of going for- ward with the Commission's bold scheme, the outcome in now a foregone conclusion.
The Commission estimated that their proposals would cost £27,500, 000, and this they proposed should be raised by loan. I understand that the Treasury favours this proposal and is prepared to car- 4 mark approximately £1,000,000 a Reuter. year from the Road Fund for ser- viee of the loan, while all the Local Authorities - concerned would jointly be called on to pro- vide a further £350,000.
