message A Japanese wireless from Hankow states that five Japanese civilians and five sailors were carried off by the mob during the incident at the Japanese Con- cession yesterday and are still missing. It is believed that one was later murdered and thrown into the river.
Several Japanese houses in the Japanese concession were dos- troyed, while the houses of those living in the Chinkow suburb of Hankow were surrounded by Chin- ese pickets.
