The Peking Government is now engaged on a revision of the Tariff the conference on which is sitting in Shanghai. The Chinese Delegates to that conference in- sisted upon taking the year 1925 on which, to base values, a stand opposed, I think I may say without. any indiscretion, by certain of the foreign delegates. Mr. H, J. Brett and Mr. Calder Marshall are the British Delegates and throughout the negotiations they have been and are now in close touch with those Sub-Committees of the Chamber best qualified to assist them in technicalities.
