The Director of Edu and Stripes, conferred at Muymuy catlon, Mr. A. E. Wood, The Rey, on Thursday in an effort to end Father Spada and The Bov. Father hostilities. The Delegation has Noval were among those present returned to the capital as all Prior to the distribution, the efforts to persuade General Mon- Man Sing Band rendered a pleacada, the Liberal military leader, sing selection of musical liems. to accept peace havo talled. A short play in three parts, anti- tled "Columbus and the Egg" was given by the students and was much applauded.

The Ileadmarter called upon M Li Yau-chuen to distribute the prizes. He said that the presenze of so many ladics and gentlemen on their prize day would no doubt have a stimulating effect on th staff and would encourage thera to strive to give of their best. The Headmaster read his report ns follows:

Annual Report. The academic year, 1926, may be said to be an eventful year. For the convenience of the pupils who live on the Peninsula, the school which was situated at St. Joseph's Terrace was removed to Ki Cheng building, Nathan Rd. In the latter building an airy hostel was opened and all available accommodation was instantly occupied..

On account of the strike, many of our boys were atranded at Can- ton, therefore the number of stu- dents on the roll in the year under review, was by far smaller than that of the previous year. In the yerr 1926, the school was opened for 219 days and the average daily | attendance was ninety-six per- cent.

Examination.

The school examination tock place in December and the results of all classes are quite satisfac tory. 1926 was the first year the school opened a Matriculation Class and in January there were six boys in that class; but among these six, only three remained until the end of the year, and these three were sent for the University Examination. To the satisfaction of both parents and teachers, they all passed. Among these three one is the pro- dast of our school and he is now a resident of May" all. He was trained up from class 7 to pass the matriculation in four years

Sports.

The physical culture of our boys la by no means neglected. We en courage them to take part in sports of various kinds, both indoor and out-door, and football is our mest favourite game. Owing to circum- stances our school's annual athle- tic sports meeting was interrupted last year, but we hope to hold it again in the coming month this

year.

BuccEAR.

From the headmaster's report, as well as from the newspapers, we knew that the school has had a great success this year. The. school has sent in three students. for the Matriculation examina tion, and all of them have possed creditably. Such a result is, if my memory serves me, one of the most remarkable of its kind on record. I have to express my appreciation to the headmaster and the teachers. of the school, without whose excel fent method of teaching the school would not have been so successful. Of course, it is also the diligence and attentiveness on the part of the students that have helped to achieve it.

Another thing I wish to say is that the students of the Colony have been afforded the greatest ap portunity to study, since they have such an exceilent Governor who takes 30 great an interest in the education of the Chinose, and who has been pleased to appoint Mr. Wood, as the Director of Educa- tion. Mr. Wood, as we all know, is a man versed both in the English and the Chinese languages, espe- cially Chinese classics.

I say students are afforded an opportunity, because I am aware that with the help and the educa- tional work of such a Director as Mr. Wood their education can hever be neglected. Before I con- clude, ladies and gentlemen, I wish to thank the headmaster for the honour given me in asking mo to distribute prizes and also to express my best wishes for the welfare and success of the school. (Applause).

The prize winners were as fol- lows:
