Arising out of many questions in the House of Commons yesterday, Sir Austen Chamberlain made several important state- nients on the China problem and crisis.

He said in reply to the Nationalist Government's declaration, that the British Government could not bind itself to refuse to enter into negotiations with Chinese officials in any part of Chim who were actually, exercising de facto authority.
