Reports from the Yangtsze zone, to hand to-day, state that at Ichang Chinese soldiery have seized the Custom's House and residences attached thereto.

There has been a big but peaceful demonstration parade at Hanków and a farther parade is due to take place to-day, which has been nominated as "Martyr Day".

There are Chinese rumours of the capture of Shanghai by the Nationalist traps and these rumours led to celebrations in Canton on Saturday. The reports, however, are not to be credited. Further speeches have been made at Home by political leaders, who are unanimous in supporting the Government in its polley.
