BRITISH CRUISERS DEPART.
Rugby, Jan. 19. The warships Frobisher, Delhi, Danae and Dragon, of the First Cruiser Squadron in the Mediter- ranean Fleet, commanded by Rear. Admiral Boyle, leave Malta to-day for Shanghai. The Dauntless, the Squadron's fifth cruiser, and the hospital ship Maine, sail later.
"As a further preparation against emergencies, a battalion of one thousand Marines leaves Ports-
mouth for China in a few days aboard the steamship Zeeland. -British Wirelces.
Malta, Jan. 19.- The first Cruiser Squadron, ex- crpt the Dauntless, left for Shanghai this morning.
They had a very hearty send off by His Majesty's ships in harbour, the crows of which manned ship and cheered lustily-Router.

In addition to two Union Custlo vousels, the Government has chartered the 11,000 ton Zeeland, which it is stated will probably be used to transport a thousand Marines now ready for Shaughal, It is not intended at present to send any additional naval forces to the Far East, and the two re quisitioned Union Castle ships aro likely to be used to convey troops to Gibraltar to replace the Suf- folks, now on the way to China.
