Rugby, Jan. 1. Within the next few months Londoners may be talking by wire less telephony to friends in Apa- tralia, South Africa and Canada. The Post Office is collaborating with the Marconi Company-con- tractors for beam wireless services to these Dominions.
These services are primarily, intended for wireless telegraphy, but they are also to be tested for the purpose of scoing whether they can be used effectively and economically for telephonie com munication. Already it is under- stood that wireless conversations have been held between the Post Office authorities here and in Canada through the medium of the Canadian beam station opened for wireless telegraphic purposes. last October.net

Portuguese Minister of Finance, have signed in London an agree ment for the funding of the war debt of Portugal to Great Britain.- The agreement provides for the payment by Portugal of sixty-two aunuities, namely £125,000 fer 1926,£250,000 for 1927, £300,000 for 1928, and £$50,000 for each of the years 1929 to 1938, $100,000) for each of the years 1980 to 1987, and £200,000 for the year 1988.
