A WARSHIP'S END.

BIG SCRAPPING PROGRAMME LAST YEAR.

A question raised in the House of Communs recently regarding the breaking up of H.M.S. King George V brings to mind the large number of battleships which | have been scrapped during the Jast year.

The King George V. comes un- der the terms of the Washington Treaty, but apart from that, the number of ships on the Disposal List has increased enoromously since the first of the Admiralty cuts was announced Inst August.
