THE POLICE DEBUT.

R.A. SCORE A 4-1 VICTORY.

[BY "WANDERER"]

Though not at full strength for their first league match yesterday, the police held the Royal Artillery for the greater part of the game, and it was not until Hudson made changes in the defence, going contre-forward himself, that the R.A. put the result beyond doubt, The Police at no time played like, a winning team, but the defence, stood the pace:so-well that when Lacey had scored a elever, goal to nullify Sargeant's first goal for the R.RA, it appeared likely that they would force a draw.

WYNNE PAYS PIPER, Wynne, whose miskick was primarily responsible for the first goal, conceded the second, in the second half, in an almost similar fashion, Harris netting. Two goals from two errors were a severe penalty to Wynne, for otherwise he played a splendid game. Subsequently in an effort to get the equaliser, the team was changed, and the R.A. had scope
