Amongst other things the Strike Committee states that "we cannot say that the Canton and Hongkong strike is settled. In short, if the gunboat policy of the British is not changed, the massacres of May 30 and June 23 not redreased, our mission is not completed and the anti-British Imperialist move. ment does not come to an end."
Naval reports from Canton, however, state that the situation is much improved, the Chinese are returning to duty with their old employers and arrangements are being nindo for a general- resumption of trade and business,
