HOW TUNNEY WON.

ROUND BY ROUND ACCOUNT OF FIGHT.

A FIERCE BATTLE.

The following detailed account of the great fight, between Demp- sey and Tunney at Philadelphia la reported by the Associated Press, round by round, as follows:

Round One..

Tunney shot out with his left,' a clinch followed, then Tunney drove his right to the champion's head. Dempsey drove both his fists to the body and then hooked a left to Tunnoy's head. They clinched and Tunney landed a right to the jaw and then another clinch occurred. Dempsey crowded into Tunney and landed two light lefts on his head.. Tunney, rocked Dempsey with a right to the jaw and also pounded him furiously on the body.

Round Two,

Tunney ran away with Dempsey In a clinch. Dempsey then hooked a left to the head and two rights to the body as Tunney retired. Dempsey chased" Tunney to his corner. Tunney's mouth was bleed- ing. Tunney landed a light"left to the hond and a clinch followed. Dempsey sang right into the body and Tunney backed away. They engaged in a furious body attack when the bell rang.

Round Three. ·

Rain was beginning to fall heavier as the, fight progressed. Both boxed enutiously. Tunney after several misses malled his right into the jaw and the blow staggered Dempsey.
