WORLD SPORT

TO-DAY'S BIG FIGHT.

ALL READY FOR DEMPSEY'S REAPPEARANCE.

Jack Dempsey, the "Manassa Mauler," heavyweight champion defends his of the world, who title against Gene Tunney at Philadephia to-night, has predict. ed that he will win by a knock-out inside the ten rounds scheduled.

World-wide interest is being taken in the bout, chiefly because Dempsey walks into the ring for the "first time since 1923, and the world awaits judgment on what his sojourn in Hollywood has cost hira as a fighting man.

Dempsey will start A firm favourite, and he will have at least ten pounds advantage in the weights.

Supporters of Gene Tunney have one important point in their "favour. Dempsey's most gruelling fight was with Tom Gibbons at Shelby, Montana, in 1923.

JACK DEMPSEY,

Scheduled for fifteen rounds, it went the full distance, and Demp- ser gained the verdict narrowly

on points.

When Tunney met Gibbons later, he woh by a knock-out.

HUGE. CROWDE.

It is estimated that 10,000 per- gons have arrived in Philadelphia from the west during the past three days and are planning to spend the intervening week in Atlantic City.
