Another British warship on the Yangtze has been fired upon by troops and has replied thereto, so much being indicated in a message from Hankow, dated yesterday, kindly forwarded to us by the
local naval authorities.
This message states that H.M.S. Scarab was fired at with rifles 26 miles below Shasi and that she replied with machine-guns, and 3-inch guns. No casualties were suffered on the warship.
