SHANGHAI'S INTERPORT

SELECTION.

LETTERS FROM CARTLIDGE AND EATON.

[BY WANDERER"]-

A rather startling, and yet some- what attractive, divergence from usuni practice, was to have been considered at the annual meeting of the Shanghai Football Associa--

Slon held at the Cathedral School,

Shanghai, last night, and local soccer enthusiasts will be interest- ed to know whether it was adopted. This radical change was con- tained in a resolution mover un- known, which stated: "For the purpose of selecting teams for Interport matches a Committee shall be formed by each First Division team nominating one re- presentative; such representative to be a non-player.

This Committee shall not be considered as a Standing Com- mittee and Shanghai Football As- .sociation officials, shall not func- tion upon it unless as the duly appointed representative of a First Division Club,"

As a system it appears to have much to commend it, but since no selection, committee m existence is likely to give general satisfaction, I wonder, whether an increase in numbers is likely to tend to this end,

Also before the. Shanghai meet- ing is a much more simple re- solution. It proposes:

That the present General and Interport Accounts of the Asso- ciation be merged into one A.
