Kara Kemal Shoots Himself.
London, 28th July.The Times' Salonica's correspondent says that Kara Kemal, who was condemned, ip his absence, for his connection. with the Mustapha plot and for whose head thousands of Turkish pounds were offered was discover ed in hiding at Stamboul. London "Gas Attack".
London, 26th July-A regular peacetime gas, attack was staged. in Commercial Road, Limehouse,"! when crowds watched 300 work- men digging feverishly for three days to locate a gas escape, making numerous holes from twelve to ifteen feet deep, and heaping pp piles of earthwork which made the street look like a trenched battle- field. Despite the fact that they wore gas masks, many workmen wore partially suffocated and had to he dragged to the surface and treated with artificial respiration before being taken away in am- bulances. Sparks, from a passing. tramcar fired the leaking gas and flames leapt up to a height of 30 fect before being extinguished.
Ramsgate Flying Sensation.
London, 23rd July-Crowds of holiday-makers watched breath-! lessly while a pilot partahoted fron 4 height of 8,000 feet and was slightly injured, out of an aer- oplane which had got out of con- trol and which nose-dived near Ramsgate. The deserted, ner- oplane continued dying for two miles and then crashed to total destruction.
