The story of the seizure and de- tails of this bold attempt at ag gling are extremely interesting and throw a light on the effrontery of those engaged in the nolairous traf fic. That the seizure was made and that one of those responsible is now. in custody, is solely due to the vigilance of the officers of the Fatahan.
First News.
The first nowe of the seizure re ceived in Hongkong was conveyed in a wireless mesange to Chief Pro- ventive. Officer Clark from the man- tor of the Fatshan, despatched vis II.M.9. Inquiries led to the arrest of the ship's painter and before long the plan in its entirety was revealed. It had been arranged that in the vici nity of the Taishek Barriér a sun- pan would be awaiting the Fatshan and the arms.
