The steamer, Lulso" Nielson, of Norwegian registry, is to-day being delivered to her new ownere at Kobe, Japan... The steamer, which was owned by Messrs, · B. Stolt Nielsen, of Haugesund, Nor- way, and which has been com-· manded by Captain Johan Wolde, has been sold to the Ocean Tránsi sport Co., of Kobe, which, we un- derstand, is closely affiliated with the Mitaui Bussen Kaisha.
The Luise Nielsen in a steamer, of 4,267 nett and 6,760, gross :ro“ gistered tons, and her under deck tonnage .5144 tons. Her dend- weight is about 9:000 tons, includ- ing hunkers. She is 409′ 6′′ long. her extreme breadth is 64' and her moulded depth, 27.1,' while her draft fully loaded is 24′ 1." Ske was built,in 1917 by the Skinner and Eddy Shipbuilding Corpora- tion, of Seattle, Washington, and. her engines were installed by the General Electric Co. T Schener tady, New York. She is fitted with three Scotch boilers, having a working pressure of 210 lbs. each, and is an oil-burner, Atted with a D. R. geured steam turbine, Sho Is of 507 nominal horse-power, and makes a speed of about 11 knots. per hour on a consumption of 17 tona of crude oil per day.
The terms of the sale are private,. but it is understand to have been. between B. Stolt Nielsaals agents of New York, and the Mitsui Bus- sen Kaishu, Kobe, direct.
• The steamer was sent from New York to Manati, Cuba,, which is situated about midway betwea Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos, on the south coast of the island. On her voyage from Manati to Hongkong the steame, passed through the Panama Canal, and had a fair voyage until just before she nfade Hongkong, when she was on the outer edge of the first typhoon. to come close tu Hong- kong this season.
