CONSTABLE CHARGED.
STOLE WATCH FROM A
PRISONER.
Tho, case in which a Shantung constable attached to the Mongkok Pelice station is charged with lar copy of a watch which was taken from the person of a prisoner on July 26, was commenced before Mr. J. H. B. Nihill at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon but owing to insufficient time was adjourned till this afternoon after the preliminary evidence hac been taken. He was also charged with misbehaviour.
Inspector Pincott opening the case said that the defendant's duty was to search all prisoners who were brought into the Station. On July 26, a man was arrested dur lag an oplum rald and the deten- dant carried out his duty in the usual manner. A girdle, and a watch were taken from the pri soner and entered in the property book by the interpreter.
