OBITUARY,
SHANGHAI KESIDENT.
The death is announced of Mr. Henry Edward Samuel Pickering which took place on Thursday' morning at 6. o'clock in the new Country Hospital, Shanghai, where he had been a patient only since Monday morning.
Mr. Pickering came out to Chipu to, join the firm of Messrs. Weeks & Co, Ld., in 1909 at the age of'' 22 years. Terminating his three year contract with Weeks & Co. during which time he also served the company in Hankow, it is un- derstood that he was Associated with A. E. S. Thompson & Co.. In 1922 he joined Frazar & Co., which he left in October 1924 to become identified with Covers, Ld. At the time of his death he wag 2 member of the firm of Thomas F. Guthrie & Co., 12 Nan Ring Road, a firm which supplied some of the building materials to the hospital where he died.
