Thore was glorious" "weather and Wimbledon was, packed, among those present being Her Majesty the "Queen. The courts were sun-baked.
Kinsey's Win..
The first of the centre court games was that between Howard Kinsey and Brugnon in which the former won 6/4, 4/6, 6/8, 3/6, 9/7. The match proved to be most interesting, the hitherto hard hitting American relying on top-spin cut against Dragon's classic orthodoxy. There was a thrilling final set. When the games stood at five-four in favour" of Brugnon he went to within one point of the set and he was three, times within one point the set and match when the games stood at 6/5 in this favour. Each time Kinsey levelled up, but Brugnon took the games to 7/6 This proved to be the extent of he Brugnon's great, effort, for became exhausted and lost the next two games and 'match.
I the other semi-final, Borotra (France) beat Cochet 2/6, 7/5, 2/6, 6/8, 7/5. Borotra lecked well-beaten when he was losing by two sets to one owing to the calm precision of Cochet, who fought most hard to keep Borotra from the net. Cochet's cross- court play was superb, but Borotra lasted better and producing characteristic .. and seemingly inspired agility he won the fourth and fifth sets. The match was full of thrills, second only to the preceding struggle.
The gates of the centre court had to be closed, so great was the crowd. There was a large com- pany of French and Arnericans present, including Mdle. Suzanne Lenglen,

The Great Majority.
Golf architects nowadays realize that they must be considerate of the average golfer, for the great majority of golfers will never-be. anything else but average. They will not practice enough to become anything else, and I am slowly. coming to the opinion that no human agency will ever get the average golfer to practice as much. as he should, which, of course, at the last analysis, is what makes him remain an average golfer.

Mixed Doubles. In the third round of the Mixed Doubles, Vincent Richards and Miss Ryan beat Crole Rees and Mrs. Jessup 6/3, 6/4..
In the fourth round of the same competition, Howard Kinsey and Miss Brown beat Dekehrling and Senorita' de Alvarez 6/1, 4/6, 6/2, and thus entered the semi-finals,

Miss Linton Orman, founder of the organisation, the headquarters of which are at 71, Biro Park gardens. Fulham, told The Even ing News the story of the trouble.
