KOWLOON'S SENIOR SHIELD VICTORY.

BIG FIGHT.

WINNING GOAL SCORED IN EXTRA TIME.

[BY "WANDERER"]

The Kowloon Football Club won the Senior Shield yesterday for the third time in four years, the decid- 'ing goal being scored in the course of the Arst ten minutes of ‘extra time under conditions which ware farcical" as far as football WAS concerned. In normal circum- stances Mason's shot from the wing would have been quite easy to save, but although Douglas got to it, the greasy ball slithered off his hands and entered the net on the far side.

It was a stroke of misfortune for. the East Surreys, and though I do] not intend to advocate that Kow- loon did not deserve to win, the point was a final demonstration of the extent to which bad luck dog- ged the Surreys from the begin- ning.

The first ten minutes provided, thrill after thrill.' Within two minutes Kowloon and scored what is regarded as the all-important genl. Duncan secured the ball on the wing and put in a dropping drop which Douglas failed to hold and Spary, opportunistic ever, dash- ed in and pushed the ball past the goalkeeper. The Surreys in reply

swarmed round the Kowloon goal, but magnificent covering on the part of the Kowloon defenders køpt, them out during this most critical period.

GOAL DISALLOWED.

It was when Kowloon were once again finding their feet that, the Surreys scored a goal which was disallowed for reasons which are known only by the referee.· Hum- berstone secured, and shot when tackled by Wheeler, ran on to Avery who was holding the ball, hooked the ball out of his hands, and shot through his legs into the net. -

Some eighteen minutes later, Humberstone scored a goal beyond. dispute. Mitchell pushed the ball through the centre and Humber- stone took it on the bounce "and
