"gushed up as fast as I pessibly) could, in spite of my weight," s plained, Mr. (: A. S. Iiss in mak ing a sudden appearance at the Police Court Inlay in a" rase inj which a sarapan woman was being 'charged with possession of opium.
Mr. A. Fraser, in stating the place in which the drug, amouni- ing to some 130 taels, was found, denied the assertion of the woman that the rug was placed there without her knowledge.
Mr. Russ was informed that the i woman had admitted the technicali point that the opium was in her possession, but had returned a plea of not guilty to. the second charge of permitting her boat to be used for its transportation. This Recond erunt involved guilty knowledge, said the Magistrate.
Saying that be hail had B: chance yet of seeing his client. Mr. Russ applied for a remand, and, a regard to the question of bail, sug- gested $1,000 as the amount.

WHY ARE THESE
VALVES BETTER?".
Because they are and piece forgings made of a new kind of steel the result of a now process perfected to combine silicon with chromium steel designed and fashioned by experts. They will not burn, warp or break in temperaturos that quickly ruin other valves.
[
2. Because they will outwear ordinary valves -four to one, and the average valve has to be reground 3 times as often.
3-Because this one piece, forged-steel, non. burning valve is the latest and best type of valve known.
