Several thousand Chineso attended the recent mass meeting in the Chinese city. at Shanghai in defiance of the martial-law order prohibiting mooings. The polico tried to disperse the crowd, but were unabio to do so. Finally, when an effort was made to form a procession, the police fired a volloy into the air.
