COUNTERFEIT NOTES IN
CIRCULATION.
The police have received in- formation that there are a num- ber of spurious $10 notes in cir- culation in Hongkong. These are notes purporting to be on the Hongkong and Shanghai Bank, and present reports show that the forgeries are confined to notes of ten dollars.
They can be defected ly a close examination of the printing, as several flaws beronk
appar- lent if AL careful inspection is made. The majority of notes have been passed at night time, thus making detection more diffi- cult.
