STRAITS OPIUM REPORT.
London, November 20, The Secretary-General of the League of Nations has circulated for the information of the members of the league who are partics to the opium convention of 1912 and the members of the advisory committee on opium traffic, the report of Mr. Gordon Wilson, the superintendent of government monopolies in the Straits Settlements, showing that in April, May and Jane 23,024 tahils of raw and 119,450 tahils of prepared opium were seized in the Straits, all from China, Including 21,987 tahils of raw oplum in June and 83,238 Lahils of prepared opium in April.
Large quantities of deleterious, drugs found hidden in the cargo of Japanese steamers, shipped from Antwerp to Dalny were also seized and heavy fines imposed in connection with the seizures. -Renter.
