Miss Hazeland had the race in her hands and could have won with the utmost case. It was merely slight error of judgment added to the effect of a strong ebb tide which made it difficult for her to cross the line and she lost much valuable time. As a result she lost the race on corrected time by a little over a minute. Falcon and Dorothea met in unfortunate circumstances on the finishing line as a result of which Falcon protested.

There were dif- ferences of opinion as to which water to sail but Gladys, Scalark and Bluenose all converged on the Rocks together. Scalark allowed herself to be forced about by Blue- nose, when she had the, right of way and the three boats went round together. Thecla, of the Gaels, was close behind and the conditions being in her favour, she made up a lot of time. She was exceedingly well handled and sail- ing closehauled from Kowloon Rock to the Club she erept up right behind the leading boats. Blue nose crossed the line first, closely followed by Sealark, Gladys and Thecla but none of the first three could save their time on. Theela which won quite comfortably.

Adanac had bad fortune when rounding the inark boat at the Club before going to Cust Rock Buoy. The helm was put up just as she went round and she took the flag clean out of the mark bont and thereby disqualified herself.

The Hon Mr. P. H.
