Submarines, destroyers, tugs, barges and virtually every type of vessel available at the naval stations at Newport, R. L., and New London, Cohri, rushed to the scene of the collision of the submarine S-51 with
the
passonger ship City of Rome, to take part in the rescue. In this photograph is shown the divers' barge standing by over the wrecked vessel, while a submarine of the same type as the lost one lurks in the background. The orass shows the location of the wreck.
