The Hanwell to Brentford route. of the London United Tramways is now operated entiroly by tran cars of the one-man type.. The service is increased by 50 por cent. The first of these cars appeared on the London United system about three years ago.

The driver is unable to start until the doors are closed and it is also impos- sible for passengers to open the doors whilst the car is in motiqn The driver performs the dual duties of driver-conductor and the fares are taken as passengers enter the car.
