NEW BALKAN UNREST.
London, Oct. 21.
Coincidently with Sofn announcing the signature to the Turc. Bulgarian Treaty of friendship and arbitration, Athens, reports, i Greco-Bulgarian frontier ineldent, namely that Bulgarian regula attacked a Greek outpost at Belles, shooting a sentry and a captait dend. It says that subsequently the Bulgars hoisted a white flag ans explained that the firing was due to a misunderstanding. The Gree! Government, however, despite the Balgarian expressions of regre. and the explanations made, is determined to throw fall light on the Incident and has ordered the Greek forces, to advance to occupy cer- tain points, whence it will be possible to ascertain the strength of " the Bulgarian force.
According to an Athens telegram the Government has decided to order Greek troops to advance into Bulgarla and occupy the town of Petritch, the headquarters of the Macedonian-Bulgarian committee, with the object of enforcing the Greek demands for satisfaction for the violation of Greek territory and the punishment of those respon- aible; also compensation to the relatives of those killed.'
A report from Athens confirms the news that Greek detách- ments have been ordered to advance into Bulgarian territory to occupy Petritch It says that if the Greek demands are not promptly "met probably an ultimatum will be addressed to Bulgaria. The Bulgarian. Government proposes the formation of a mixed commission of Greco- Bulgarian officers to investigate the incidet on the spot.-Reuter,
OBITUARY.
London, Oct. 21,
The death is announced of Baron Ribblesdale.-Reuter. (Baron Ribblesdale (Thomas Lister, P:C.), was born October 7, 1854 and succeeded his father as 4th Baron in. 1876. The family is one of great antiquity having been seated at Gisburne, Yorkshire, for more than five centuries. Baron Ribblesdale was a retired captain of rifle brigade, and a lord-in-waiting to Queen Victoria in 1880-1885 and master of Her Majesty's buckhounds 1892-1895, 1877 he married a daughter of Sir Charles Tennant. In 1910 he married the widow of the Colonel J. J. Astor. The late Baron was also a writer, among his chief publications being "The Queen's Hounds" and Stag-hunting Recollections (1897) and "Charles Lister" (1917)).
