The last picture taken of the officers of the wrecked dirigible Shenandoah All these officers were on the ship at the time of the crash. Front row, left to right: Lieutenant R. C. Mayer, Lieutenant J. B. Lawrence, Lieutenant A/R, Houghton and Lieutenant SS. Hallibur- ton. Back row, left to right: Lieutenant E. W. Sheppard, Lieutenant C. E. Rosenthal, Lieute- nant Commander Zachary Lansdowno (in commant), Lieutenant Commander Louis Hancock. And Lieutenant C. E. Bausch. Of this group Lansdowne, Lawronce, Houghton, Hancock and Sheppard were killed.
Funeral of the Victims.
With impressive ceremonies, the bodies of several victims of the Shenandoah disaster wore burled, in the brautiful wooded slopes of Arlington National Cemetery near Washington. Not far away is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The picture shows the flag-druped coffins con- taining the bodies of Lieut. Com. Louis Hancock, Lieut. Edgar W, Sheppard and Lieut. J. B. Lawrence.
If a company of the Ohio National Guard had not been called out to guard the wreckage of the Shenandoah, the navy department would have had little debris to remove, Souvenir huntors at once started to pick up everything they could. Here are three men taking away all they can carry.
