Shewan, Tomes and Co., St. George's Building, to-day at noon, for the purpose of passing resolutions in connection with the proposed merger with the China Provident Loan and Mort gage Co., Ltd. Mr. R. G. Shewan presided and there were also pre- zent Messrs. W. J. Carroll, CB Brooke. M. M. Tackey. (Consulting Committee), Mr. R. F. Mattingly (Solicitor), Mr. Noel Braga (Secre- tary) and Messrs. A.-L., Shields, D. W. Munton, J. Toppin, A. A. Botelho, S. C. Cook, Capt AW. Best and W. J. Hawker (share holders).
