Marriage Bells at Shanghai.

At Shanghai,recently a pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Father, Rosenzweig S. J. officiating,
whon Miss Luciani nieco of
Tirasacchi of Shanghai, became the bride of Mr. Robert Berthier, Detective-Brigadier of the
French Police and son of Mr. Raufast of Shanghai. This picture was taken after the wedding and shows the happy couple,
who are now in Poking on their honeymoon, with the bridal party.

A picturesque wedding was solemnized at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Shanghai, whon Miss Gladys Irene Davey, second daughter of Mr. W. J. Davey, Managing Director of the "Shanghai Mercury" and Mrs. Davey, became the bride of Mr. Owen James Barnos, eldest son of Mrs. E. G. Baines and the late Mr. Barnes of Norwood, England, Dean Symons performed the ceremony which was fully choral. Following the servico a reception was held at the Astor House Hotel. Our picture shows the happy couple and bridal group.
The above photograph was takon from a corner of the grand stand at the Shanghai, Far Eastern Recreation Club's ground, known as the Yangtzopqo Race Course. The course may be opened some time in November, though typhoons and rain kave delayed the work. The illustration shows part of the half mile straight, which is a feature of the course. Stable ad- commodation is provided for 150 ponies.
