A large party accompanied the members of the American Legion to Sungklang recently on their pilgrimage to the temple-tomb of General Frederick Ward, the warrior hero who made fame for his country and honour for himself during the Talplog Rebellion, over 60 years ago. General Ward was the organizor of the Ever Victorious Army which on March 2; 1862, received its first public recognition by an Imperial edict from Paking. After arrival at Sungkiang, where a reoption was given to the party by local Chinese officals, the visitors, headed by Major A. Bassett, proceeded to the tomb,. Mr. Edwla S. Cuningham, U.S. Consul-General, on behalf of the Legion and members of American Community of Shanghal, leid a wreath on the grave. The chief speaker was Judge Milton D.
