SATURDAY'S RACING.
FIFTH EXTRA MEETING. AT HAPPY VALLEY.
The weather was not too pró- mising for the Fifth Extra Race moating at Happy Valley on Saturday, but in spite of this a large number attended for this final event of the season. Showers came at intervals, but by good fortune they occurred between races and thus did not interfero with the sport. His Excelleėnos the Governor, and party arrived before the first race and remained till the end."
Mr. Pollock was the most suc- cessful jockey with three firsts out of five starts. Lieut. Commdr. Thompson had one first and two seconds as did Mr. E. Bradio Mr. Davies had one second and two thirds and Mr. Buck a first and a second, while Mr. Harriman could only manago two thirde. Lady Severn took the first race with Jambu, to which H. E. the Governor's Gaudio ran third while the intervening place was oc. cupied by Hailsham which was previously in the ownership of Captain Neville, A. D. C. to His Excelleny, thus making of the event something in the nature of an Administrative monopoly Mesare. Dyer and Boith had a first and second, Mr. H. P. White first and a second, Messrs. Dun- bar and Stanton two seconds, Mr. Bagram two thirds and His Excellency a second and a third,
