In the fashion which has prevailed so long for planting exotic trees and shrubs, Japanese flowering oborries have had at comparatively maluor part; yet if English gardeners could magically 'carpeted" en masse to the public parks of Tokyo just now, there would be much subro- quent planting of these really boautiful trees throughout the country.
