CREAT LOSS IN LOOTED NANKING.--About half a million dollars of property was thi extent of the damage dons-ln Nanking by soldtors General Chi's bodyguard who, disgusted with being lefe unpaid, looted parts of Nanking city. Looters did not spare Japanese stores, and several persona" vere shot. American Marines took up duty at the Drum Tower anticipating further troubio, but the disturbance was fortunately quolled- A number of the looters have been captured end beheaded.
About 30 large buildings varo destroyed by fire started by the looters.
