According to a French source, the Allfed agreement provides į for liquidation of the Ruhr accounts on a basis of deduction occupation expenses from total recolpli The net profit alone, which is estimated at ono milliard Gold Marks, will be set down to the account of all the Alijed countries. It is acknowledged that Belgian priority is not entirály extinguihed. Belgium still having to receive one hundred and twenty million Gold Marks out of two milliards conceded her. Belgium will consequently continue for two years to September, 1926, to receive eight per cent of the annual Dawes scheme payments, after which it will be reduced to four per cont, and the residue assigned to the United States.

The British and. American delegaten agreed to acknowledge the United States claim to a share in the Dawes payments under the heading of "Reparations," but spread over twenty-six years from September, 1920. Rearrangements of payments will be effected in regard to the discharge of American occupation expenses. A lump sum of one hundred and fifty million Gold Marks, fixed for future occupation expenses, ls llable to certain reductions. After allowance is made for all these priority claims, thirty-four milliards Gold Marks remain to meet reparations out of the Dawes scheme payments, of which France will receive Afty-two per cent.

Mr. Churchill explained to M. Clementel that the British attitude la to uphold the principles of the Balfour Note affecting the sum fourteen millard Gold Marke, but negotiations hereanent are no! likely to be opened immediately. The discussion on inter-Allied debts has not attained the scope previously anticipated.

It is authoritatively denied that the Anglo-American agreement on American claims la in anywise connected with Mr. Montagu Norman's negotiations at Washington.

MOST FAVOURED NATION TREATMENT.

London, Jan. 10.

It is not believed that the Anglo-German trading position will undergo a change in consequence of the lapse of the clauses of the Versailles Treaty, which operated for five years from ratification on January 10, 1920, whereunder it was laid down that Germany should extend the most favoared nation treatment to the Allies without "reciprocity.

Germany is now free to Take measures to protect her commercial interests and differentiate 18 she plenses It is understood that when the German delegates recently went to England to negotiate an Anglo-German commercial Treaty an undertaking was given that the attitude toward Britain would be unaltered, pending ratification of the new Treaty then being drawn up. Britain is the only Aily to sign a new commercial Treaty up to the present.

Reme, Jan. 10.

An Ralo-German agreement has been reached, provisionally permitting continuation of trade relations after Junuary 13, ́pend- ing conclusion of a definite Treaty.

Berlin, Jan. 10.

. Herr Trendelenburg, the chief of the German Commercial delega- tion to Paris, has proceeded to Paris bearing Fresh instructions of the German Government, which cannot agree to France's sugges'ed provisional arrangement. Consequently, unless an immediate agree. ment is reached, the German Cust my tariff of 1902 will be applied to French goods.

Paris, Jan. 10.

In consequence of the lupac of Article 268 of the Versailles Trea'y, providing for the entry into Germany of duty free goods from Alsace-Lorraine and the failure hitherto of Frango-German negotia- tions for the substitution of a commercial agreement a steady stream of vehicles, loaded with goods for Germany has set in along routes leading to the Rhine, especially in the direction of Kehl. The organisation of a special police service was necessitated to avoid traffic blocks. Exported goods include foodstuffs textiles and leather-Reuter.
