Ordinance should not be deemed
to restrict the Corporation from carrying on Busines at the flaces mentioned, with the Consent of the Lords of the Treasury. This course was
recording ly
adopted and when the Ordinance. was sent home, the Lords of the Treasury did not object to this Proviso (Sur Dispatch of Lord Carmarion N 87 of 24 November
1866), but instructions were scut out to insert the following-
additional Provisions:
1. Notes issued in the Colony
to be dated and made
payable in Hong Kong.
