The report of Lloyd's Register of Shipping for the year ended 30th June last records continuance of depression in the shipbúlid- ing industry. It says the tonnage of new vessols classed by Lloyda
during the year, namely 835,000, was the lowest recorded in fifteen
years, except in the second year of the War, representing only 27%; of that in 1920-1,-and 65% of the tơ'al of 1922-3.
In all, 464 vessels, of a tonnage of 600,000, were lost, and 500, Vesels of a "onnage of 1,250,000 were dismantled or broken up, the last figure being twice that of the year ended June 1923.
