FANCY DRESS DANCE AT TSINGTAO.-On August 16 the Strand Hotel was the scene of a very gay and successful fancy dress dance. Hundreds of merrymakers wore present, and it was no easy lask for Mr. Major and Mr. Adams, the Bṛlish and American Consuls respectively, to decide to whom the prizes should be awarded, Mrs. Morton, who is in the front of the picture, won the prize for the best costume, and Miss Annie Gensberger, of Shanghal, also in the picture, secured the prize for the most original costume. Mr. Morion went as a Spanish lady and Miss A. Getisberger, wore a lovely cloth of silver ski-ing coalume.
