DISASTER IN JAPAN.

Tokyo, August 10.-Fifty minors were entrapped in the Iriyama coal mine, in Fukushima province. when a gas explosion occurred last evening. It is feared that ull are dead. Nine bodies have up to the present been recovered.

The mine, which is in the centre of an Important coalfield, has recently been unfortunate, this
