·SHANGHAI GODOWN FIRE. --On the evening of July 14th at 9.30 a fire broke out at the. Robert Dollar Godown on the Poolung shore. The fire was most difficult to fight and dangerous to cope with on account of the quantities of red and yellow phosphours stored in lite godown, as well as large quanities of acetic and sulphuric acids, caustic soda and calcium carbido. Tho Shanghai Bitgado. with their river fluat, did most valuable work in'rolloving the wharf hands and preventing the fire from spreading to the store of chlorate of potash which was in an adjoining godown.
