from the Trustees of St. John's

Cathedral to whom I have

referred for a report.

I am disposed to

concur in the views

of the Trustees, and would therefore,

with Your Lordship's sanction, propose to the Council

that $1500 be placed on the Estimate as

a reasonable contribution from the Colony for the Church

accommodation provided for the Troops.

3. Under Ordinances No. 2

of 1847, and 3 of 1850, the

Cathedral property is vested

in Trustees - four of whom

are appointed by the Governor and five by the Seat-holders. This body is well qualified to take charge of any

Funds which may be placed in their hands for Church purposes, and the grant

now referred to, if made, may very properly be added to such other Revenue under their control,

for which they give an annual account in the

Government Gazette.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient

humble Servant,

Governor
