FROM MR ALDERMAN ADDYMAN, CHAIRMAN OF THE LEEDS CORPORATION WATERWORKS.
7, BLENHEIM TERRACE,
To the Chairman of Quarter Sessions, Court House, Northallerton.
LEEDS, August 2nd, 1872.
SIR,
Mr. DANDY informs me that he is an applicant for the post of Surveyor of Bridges of the North Riding.
Allow me to state that I have known him for some years; his talents are of the highest order, and his character unimpeachable.
As a member of the Leeds Waterworks for many years, and now Chairman pro tem of the Committee, I have had many opportunities of knowing his worth, he having under our Engineer, sole charge of the works.
If he is fortunate enough to secure the appointment he is now seeking we shall lose the services of a Gentleman we can scarcely hope to replace, but you will gain one who I am sure you will find in every way well qualified for the duties which will devolve upon him.
I am, Sir,
Yours very respectfully,
ROBT. ADDYMAN.
