At the time doctors were not agreed whether the small quantity
of poi-on found in the woman's body was the cause of death, but Dauval was nevertheless sent- enced.

BRITAIN'S RAILWAY
ACCIDENTS.
The total number of people killed on the United Kingdom railway last year was 728, and 19,462 were injured.
While the number killed is a decrease of 37 on the previous year, the list of injured shows an increase of 489.
Over a long period of years, however, the railways are becom- ing distinctly safer. This is shown in the Ministry of Transport's report on railway accidents issued yesterday.
Only four passengers were .8059.925.45 killed and 362 inured last year as 2 re-ult of passenger train collisions.
Caruso said:- My VICTOR RECORDS. shall be my biography' MOUTRIES: Sole Victor Distributors.
Twenty-eight collisions, derail- meats, and other accidents were inquired into by the Ministry during the year, and it was found that seven of them (25 per cent.) would bave been prevented by a system of automatic train control,
