Over 35 Inches Recorded.
The rainfall registered at the Botanic Garden during August totalled no less than 35. 18 inches. The highest for any one day was 7.08 inches on the 28th, ather. rendings above two inches being 6.48 on the 5th, 875 on the 19th.. 2.77 on the 27th., 2 31 on the 30th, and 2.26 on the 29th.
There were only eleven days in the month on which no rain was recorded.

A case of the rias of temper- ature after death was mentioned at a Marylebona inquest.ona. at Claridge'a' man employed Hotel, W., who died from hoat stroke. Dr. Reginald Peat, house surgeon at Middlesex Hospital, said that shortly before death the wan's temperature was 110 deg, but after death it went up to 112.
