Tokyo, August 28.-Count Yamamoto has been summoned by the Prince Regent. It is under- stood that he has been invited to form a Cabinet. The funeral of the late Premier Kato was held this afternoon with Shinto 'rites. Full naval honours befitting his rank of Fleet Admiral were accord. ed him.Flags were half masted on the warships which fred a salute at the time of the ceremony. The ceremonial was carried out at the official residence and was at tended by representatives of their Majesties and the Regent, Princes! Kanin, Nashimoto and Kaga attend-| ed personally as did the Diplomatic Corps, the members of the Cabinet, and many others. After the ceremonies the public were admitted to pay tribute to the dead statesman. The interment, which followed, was purely a family affair-Beuter."

WING to the receipt of numerous complaints from patrona as to te incivility of various members of the staff of the Hotels under the Management of this Company in Hong- kong, much tomplaints being to the effect that Cash has been demanded in satisfaction of Liquore upp ied, and patrons. thereby inconvenienced by not being allowed to sign "chita," we beg to draw the attention of our clientele to the terms of the Liquers Ordinance, 1917, an extract from which is hereby.

3. (1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2) of this section, no persou shall sell any intoxicating liquor for" consumption on er at any licensed premises except for cash.

(c) any sale in accordance with the conditions of his licence by the holder of a restaurant adjunct licence.

4. Where any intoxicating liquor is sold by a servant or employee in contravention of section 3 of this Ordinanco the employer. whether a natural pergau or

a body corporate,, shall be deemed to be guilty of am offence against this Ordinance unless be proves affirmatively that the sale was against his express orders and without his consent or connivence.

Every person to whom any liquor is, to he knowledge of Euch person, supplied in contravention of this Ordinance shall also be gulity of an offence against this Ordinance.

The co-operation of our Patrone, with a view to assisting us to carry out the provisions of the Liquors Ordinance, is respectfully requested.
