performing the duties
of
the Colonial Surgeon
in addition to his own.
This arrangement
is open to objections
and is only temporary. There is great difficulty
in making any eligible appointment
on
the spot, and I should
be glad to
recommend that the vacancy be filled up with the least possible
delay by Your Lordship.
