on Chinese

territory in the Macao Straits

near the Colony.

2. From a despatch on the same subject received on the same day as your letter, his Lordship

Colony learns that the intention of building these lighthouses on Chinese territory has been abandoned, and it is obvious that he could not have sanctioned

the expenditure of Colonial funds in the manner proposed

by Mr. Hart, but I am to suggest for the consideration...
